How does BYOK work technically — what data actually leaves our environment?+
When BYOK is enabled, Mesrai constructs a review prompt that includes the PR diff and relevant graph context, then sends it directly to your LLM provider (OpenAI, Anthropic, Vertex AI, or Bedrock) using your API key over TLS. The source code travels from GitHub/GitLab to your LLM provider — it never passes through Mesrai's servers. Only the review output (line numbers, severity labels, comment text) returns to Mesrai and is posted on the PR. Your existing data processing agreement with your LLM provider governs the code, not Mesrai's.
What does Mesrai's audit log contain and where can we send it?+
Every review event is logged: PR identifier, timestamp, which agents ran, each finding posted (file, line, severity, category), and each finding action taken (accepted, dismissed, resolved, and by which user). Logs export via the Mesrai API as structured JSON and can be streamed in real time to Splunk, Datadog, AWS CloudWatch Logs, or any SIEM that accepts HTTP webhook delivery. Log retention period is configurable on Enterprise plans to match your compliance requirement.
How do we roll Mesrai out across 20+ teams without a big-bang migration?+
The recommended approach is a phased rollout by team or repository. Start with one team in advisory mode (findings posted as comments, no merge blocks) to calibrate rule quality. After two weeks, promote that team's rule set as the org baseline and onboard the next cohort. Org-level rules propagate immediately to all connected repositories — there is no per-repo deployment. Most enterprise customers reach full coverage in four to six weeks with two to three engineering days of effort.
Can we run Mesrai against GitHub Enterprise Server in our private network?+
Yes. GitHub Enterprise Server (self-hosted GHE) is supported on Enterprise plans via a GitHub App installation on your GHE instance or a Personal Access Token with repo scope. GitLab Self-Managed is also supported. For air-gapped environments where Mesrai's servers cannot reach your GHE host, a customer-managed relay agent is available — contact contact@mesrai.com to scope the network architecture for your environment.
